GHOSTLAND OBSERVATORY
JUST CONFIRMED TO PERFORM AT
WORLD OF SOUND
TO CELEBRATE THE RE-OPENING OF BASS CONCERT HALL
FRIDAY, JANUARY 30, 2009 AT 8:00 PM
Ghostland Observatory has just been added to perform a very special encore performance at the upcoming WORLD OF SOUND concert at the University of Texas at Austin Performing Arts Center’s Bass Concert Hall on Friday, January 30, 2009 at 8:00 PM.
WORLD OF SOUND is a major concert event with The University of Texas Symphony Orchestra, UT Wind Ensemble, UT Choral Ensembles, and a UT Jazz Ensemble assembling for a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration as they perform in a variety of combinations with opera stars, mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade, bass-baritone vocalist Samuel Ramey, and Barbara Conrad, as well as Austin’s electro-funk-rock duo, Ghostland Observatory, appearing with the University of Texas Wind Ensemble.
With up to 150 performers on stage at once, this colossal event is presented by the Sarah and Ernest Butler School of Music and the Performing Arts Center, and highlights the return of symphonic and electronic music to the Bass Concert Hall stage!
WORLD OF SOUND is part of a two-week Bass Concert Hall re-opening celebration that also includes concerts by Grammy Award winning R&B sensation John Legend and Canadian indie rock super-group Broken Social Scene; plus a week-long engagement of the Broadway smash-hit LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL. Tours of the newly renovated theatre will be given throughout the two-week celebration.
Tickets for WORLD OF SOUND and LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL are NOW ON SALE at the following authorized ticket outlets, including all Texas Box Office Outlets, most HEB stores, online at utpac.org, or by phone at (512) 477-6060 or (800) 982-BEVO.
Tickets for JOHN LEGEND and BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE go on sale FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 21 AT NOON at the authorized ticket outlets above.
