Presented in partnership with the Butler School of Music

Butler School of Music artists in residence Enrico Gatti and Gwendolyn Toth present an evening of Haydn and Mozart.

Born in Perugia, Italy, Enrico Gatti has dedicated himself to the study of repertoire from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. He has toured extensively in Europe, Canada, America, Russia, Japan and Australia, performing with many of the world’s leading early music ensembles, including Hesperion XX, La Real Cámara, The Taverner Players, and The King’s Consort. He presently teaches at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome.

Recognized as one of America’s leading performers on early keyboard instruments, Gwendolyn Toth performs with equal ease on the harpsichord, lautenwerk, organ, fortepiano, and clavichord. Her interpretations have been acclaimed for their spirit and intelligence, and her technique is founded on historical performance principles of fingering, articulation, and phrasing. Currently, in addition to being the artistic director of ARTEK, she is Orchestra Director at Manhattan College and Choral Director at Mount Saint Vincent College, and she teaches harpsichord at Montclair State University and Hunter College of the City University of NewYork.
