VOLUNTEER

Guest Services Representatives

Our dedicated team of Volunteer Ushers plays a key role in Texas Performing Arts’ goal to provide the very best service to our guests. Volunteers should be interested in the performing arts, have superior customer service skills, and be willing and able to work as part of a great team of other volunteers and staff members.

VOLUNTEER BENEFITS

• Hands-on experience working at a world-class Performing Arts Center
• Chance to meet other people in our community who also love and support the arts
• Opportunity to see performances when working a shift, although this perk is never guaranteed
• Subscription to The UsherGram, our newsletter, with a preview of upcoming events and behind-the-scenes information

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

One of our primary goals at Texas Performing Arts is to ensure that our guests have an enjoyable and memorable experience at our events. Whether taking tickets, handing out programs, greeting incoming patrons or assisting guests in finding their seats, our volunteers are the public face of Texas Performing Arts.

Volunteering requires a commitment to work a minimum of 12 different events per season, with events ranging from student performances, to International touring bands and dance groups, to UT Commencement Ceremonies, to Broadway Spectaculars, and everything in between. All volunteers must be willing and able to work every possible usher position in any and all of our seven different venues across campus.

JOIN US!

We are not recruiting new ushers at this time. We plan to begin accepting applications mid-summer, with interviews and training to follow in late-summer/early-fall. We will post the online usher application, as well as upcoming interview and training dates on this webpage, so please check back here periodically for the most current information about usher recruitment.
