Paper Costume, Dance Repertory Theatre

The Department of Theatre & Dance was founded in 1938 as the first university theatre program in the state of Texas. From its humble beginnings of four faculty teaching nine courses, it has grown tremendously in both size and diversity of curricula. Now, with over 50 faculty and staff, and more than 260 courses offered each semester, the UT Department of Theatre and Dance is one of the largest theatre and dance departments in the United States.

The Performing Arts Center is responsible for presenting, marketing and managing production for Theatre & Dance student performances. Working alongside graduate and undergraduate students, Performing Arts Center staff support the creation of costumes, props and scenery and lighting and sound design for each performance.
